Janne Karlsson (ice hockey b. 1964)

Jan Peter " Janne " Karlsson (* May 30, 1964 in Kiruna ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player and current coach and - functionary. Since October 2012, he stands as the head coach at Karlskrona HK from the HockeyAllsvenskan under contract.

Career

Janne Karlsson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Kiruna AIF for the first team, he made his debut in the then still second-class Division 1 in the 1980/81 season. For the 1982/83 season the defender moved to MoDo AIK of the Elitserien. With the team he joined in 1983/84 season from the Division 1, but MoDo AIK reached in the following season the chances of promotion. For the 1987/88 season the former youth international joined the second division Västerås IK, with the he succeeded Earned promotion in the Elitserien. Following the 1991/92 season he finished his active career temporarily, ran in the 1995/96 season but once in 19 games for the second division Huddinge IK on.

From 2003 to 2005 Karlsson was as head coach for IF Björklöven in the new Swedish second division, the HockeyAllsvenskan, works. Subsequently, he was one and a half years, general manager of the club, before he took over the position as head coach at Mörrums GoIS IK from the now third-rate Division 1 during the 2006/07 season. For the season 2007/ 08 he became head coach at second division Växjö Lakers Hockey, which he led to the rise in the Elitserien in the season 2010/11.

In October 2012 Karlsson was dismissed by the management of the Lakers and took a few days later as coach for the second division Karlskrona HK.

Internationally

For Sweden, Karlsson participated in the Under-18 European Junior Championships in 1982 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 1983 and 1984 in part. In the U18 European Championship in 1982 he won the gold medal with his team.
