Jari Torkki

Jari Kaarlo Torkki ( born August 11, 1965 in Rauma ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player who played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, among others, for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and the Star Bulls Rosenheim in its active from 1981 to 2002. Career

Jari Torkki began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Lukko Rauma, for the first team, he made his debut in the SM- liiga in the 1981/82 season. From 1990 to 1996 Torkki again played for his hometown club Lukko Rauma in the SM- liiga. He then completed two seasons with the Star Bulls Rosenheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Finally, the former NHL player made ​​his career in unterklassigen European leagues finish and played from 1998 to 2001 for the HC Merano and the HC Milan in the Italian Serie A1. After he started the season 2001 /02 in Merano, he finished this at the Bracknell Bees in the British Ice Hockey Superleague. He then finished his career at the age of 36 years.

Internationally

For Finland Torkki took at junior level at the Under-18 European Junior Championships in 1982 and 1983, as well as the U20 World Junior Championships in 1984 and 1985 in part.
