Jarra Central
Jarra Central is one of 35 districts - the second highest level of administrative divisions - the West African nation of Gambia. It is one of six districts in the Lower River Region.
According to a calculation by 2013 there live about 6511 inhabitants, the result of the last published census of 2003 was 6494th
The name is derived from Jarra, a former small kingdom.

Population
According to a survey of 1993 ( former census ), the largest population group, the Mandinka with a share of around four -tenths, followed by the Fula and the Serahule. The distribution in detail: 38.2 % Mandinka, Fula 33 %, 0.3% Wolof, Jola 0.4 %, 21.3% Serahule, 0.9% Serer, Aku 0%, 5.6% Manjago, 0 Bambara % and 0.3 % other ethnicities.
