Jason Young (Sprinter)

Jason Young (born 21 March 1991) is a Jamaican sprinter.

Young won at the Summer Universiade 2011 in Shenzhen with 20.59 s over 200 meters silver. The following year, he then international breakthrough. In July, he ran the tips Meeting in Lucerne only 10.06 s in the 100 meters and 19.86 s later than 200 meters, which he not only defeated Warren Weir, but also ran the sixth fastest time of the year. The sudden attention he also managed to participation in the prestigious Diamond League meeting in Lausanne, Zurich and finally in Brussels, where he s underlined his status as one of the largest 200 meter talent with 19.92.

Ins 2013, he raced in Kingston with 10.21 s in the 100 meters. The same time was also measured in his next race, the meeting in Doha. On a podium, he however, only came on May 18 in his 200 - meter race in Shanghai. There he came up with 20.22 s behind Weir and Gatlinburg to third place. Selfsame he finished on 1 June in Eugene, this time in 20.20 s behind Ashmeade and Dix. In the Jamaican Championships, he missed as a fifth in the 200 -meter final to participate at the World Championships in Moscow. With Lausanne and Paris followed in July more Diamond League appearances. After 20.07 s in Budapest, he ran on July 17 for the first time in under 20 seconds. When peaks Meeting in Lucerne, where he had gone last year with 19.86 s best performance, he won in 19.98 s
