Jean-Paul Roussillon
Jean -Paul Roussillon ( born March 5, 1931 in Paris, † July 31, 2009 in Auxerre ) was a French actor and director. He played 1945-2008 in more than 115 plays and films.
Life
The son of a theater director went through the École nationale supérieure des arts et techniques du théâtre and together with Michel Galabru the Conservatoire, before he found acceptance as pensionnaire 1950 at the Comédie Française. The Paris National Theater, for which he was more than fifty years, most made it back in 1960 for salaried actor ( sociétaire ). Success had granted him especially in plays by William Shakespeare and Molière. Roussillon appeared among others in the Molière - pieces The Miser, George Dandin, The School for Wives with the young Isabelle Adjani, as well as in Tartuffe and The Misanthrope with Robert Hirsch. Later, he also worked as a theater director. In 1982 he left the Comédie- Française as sociétaire honoraire and entered as a theater actor among other things in pieces by Jean -Claude Grumberg Yasmina Reza or. 1991 and 1996 Roussillon was awarded the Molière, France's major theater prize, awarded for his supporting roles in Zone Libre or Fagadaus Michel Colombe Anouilh staging. In addition to his theater career began Roussillon from the mid-1950s to appear in television and feature films. Roussillon was married to actress Catherine Ferran. He died at the age of 78 years at the hospital in Auxerre at the consequences of years of suffering lung cancer.
