Jefferson Leonardo Pérez Quezada (born 1 July 1974 in Cuenca ) is a former Ecuadorian walker. He is Olympic champion and three-time world champion.

At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, he won the 20 km walk gold medal ahead of Ilya Markov (RUS ) and Bernardo Segura ( MEX). He thus became the first and only Olympic gold medalist in the history of Ecuador. Then the celebrated national hero put the 459 km from Quito to Cuenca to walk back. At the Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004, he finished fourth place respectively over 20 km. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he was second over 20 miles and thus won the silver medal. At the 2004 Games, he took up also more than 50 miles and was twelfth.

Pérez won at the IAAF 1999 World Championships in Seville, the silver medal in the 20 km walk, behind Ilya Markov and before Daniel Garcia ( MEX). At the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis, he won the gold medal. He repeated this success at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 and two years later at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka.
