Jeffrey Leiwakabessy

Jeffrey Leiwakabessy ( born February 23, 1981 in Elst ) is a Dutch footballer who also owns the Indonesian citizenship. Leiwakabessy is the son of a Dutch and a Molukkers.

Career

He comes from Elst in the Dutch province of Gelderland and began playing football with his hometown club Elistha Elst before the 1993 NEC Nijmegen joined. There he went through the youth teams and eventually came into the Premiership team of the club in 1998. In 2001 he became a regular player there on the left side of defense and played for Nijmegen in the UI and the UEFA Cup.

With his contract at the Eredivisie club expires 2006 he changed to the first division Alemannia Aachen, where he signed a three-year contract. He denied the only player Aachener all 34 games of the 2006/07 season, in which he descended to the club in the 2nd Bundesliga. There graduated Leiwakabessy 2007/ 08 a further 26 Inserts for Alemannia.

For the 2008/09 season Leiwakabessys contract was terminated in Aachen, whereupon he moved to first division club Anorthosis Famagusta Cyprus. With this, he also played in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. In 95 league missions he scored three goals.

In January 2012, he joined a free transfer back to his home to first division side VVV -Venlo, where he established himself again as a regular player.
