Jérémy Chardy

Jérémy Chardy (born 12 February 1987 in Pau ) is a French tennis player. In 2005 he won the Wimbledon junior title.

Life

Chardy was supervised by former professional Frédéric FONTANG from the age of 18. His first Grand Slam tournament was the French Open in 2006. During the first round he defeated Jonas Björkman, but different in the second round against David Ferrer. In 2008 he reached at the French Open after a victory over the world number Seventh David Nalbandian the fourth round.

2009 moved Chardy in his first ATP final in Johannesburg. In this, however, he lost to Jo -Wilfried Tsonga 6-4, 7-6 ( 7-5 ). Shortly after, he reached the semifinals in Delray Beach. On July 19, 2009, he won by a three-set win over Victor Hanescu the ATP tournament in Stuttgart, which also marked his first tournament victory on the ATP Tour. In the first tournament of the year 2010 in Brisbane he won with Marc Gicquel the first doubles title in his career.

2011 Chardy separated from FONTANG, which led to a legal dispute.

In 2013 he defeated in the Australian Open in the third round Juan Martín del Potro in the second round and Andreas Seppi. By reaching the quarter-finals, he improved his previous best performance at a Grand Slam tournament. There, he lost to Andy Murray from Scotland.
