2009 SA Tennis Open

The SA Tennis Open 2009, a tennis tournament, which took place in Johannesburg from 2 to 8 February 2009. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2009 and was discharged on hard court. In the same week were in Viña del Mar, the Movistar Open and played in Zagreb PBZ Zagreb Indoors, who scored just like the Movistar Open to Category ATP World Tour 250.

The last winner of the tournament was Martin Sinner, who had secured the title in 1995 against Guillaume Raoux. Between 1996 and 2007, the tournament did not take place. In the doubles were called the last winner Rodolphe Gilbert and Guillaume Raoux, which could prevail in the final against Martin Sinner and Joost Winnink. The 2009 final won Jo- Wilfried Tsonga in straight sets against his fellow countryman Jérémy Chardy 6-4, 7-6. This was the third overall title by Tsonga on the professional tour. In doubles, the duo James Cerretani and Dick Norman against the locals Rik De Voest and Ashley Fisher his partner won in three sets.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs.
