2009 BNP Paribas Masters

The BNP Paribas Masters 2009 was a tennis tournament which took place in Paris -Bercy from 8 to 15 November 2009. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2009 and was held in the indoor hard courts. In the current season, it was the last of nine tournaments Category ATP World Tour Masters 1000th

Last year's winner in the singles, Jo -Wilfried Tsonga, resigned earlier this year in the quarter- finals. In this year's final of the Serb Novak Djokovic won in three sets over Gaël Monfils. For Djokovic, this was the first triumph in Paris, but already the fifth Masters title in his career. Overall, it was the 16th tournament title in the career of the Serbs. In doubles, Jonas Bjorkman and Kevin Ullyett won the title last year, but they came this year no longer together to defend their title at. While Björkman waived this year to participate, Ullyett difference with his new partner Bruno Soares of already in the second round. In this year's finals Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic won against the unseeded duo Marcel Granollers and Tommy Robredo.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 48 players, double that of the competition from 24 pairs. The 16 top-seeded player in singles and eight top-seeded pairings in a double each got a bye into the second round.
