Marcelo Melo

Marcelo Pinheiro Davi de Melo ( born September 23, 1983 in Belo Horizonte ) is a Brazilian tennis player.

Career

The doubles specialist began his professional career in 1998 and has so far reached 24 doubles finals on the ATP World Tour, from which he could decide for himself 13. After a positive doping test on Isomethepten at the ATP Queen's Club 2007 Melo had to serve a two -month ban. The comparatively short lock was established by the ITF with the fact that Melo had not taken the remedy with the intention of performance improvement. In 2009 he reached together with Vania King the final of the mixed competition of the French Open, which makes it the only seventh Brazilian, who was standing in a Grand Slam final. In 2013, he was the final of the doubles competition at Wimbledon.

His highest world ranking position he reached in the individual with rank 273 in November 2005, in a double with 5th place in November 2013.
