Jessie J
Jessie J ( born March 27, 1988 in Redbridge, London; actually Jessica Ellen Cornish) is a British pop musician.
Career
Even with eleven years worked Jessie J in the musical Whistle Down the Wind with London's West End. In addition, they began early to write poetry. She studied fine arts at the BRIT School and signed a contract then at Good Records. However, the label broke up due to bankruptcy before they could publish something.
At 18, she threw a minor stroke health back, after which it was, however, taken as a songwriter by Sony under contract and wrote, among other things, Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Lisa Lois, and Miley Cyrus ( Party in the USA ). In 2008, Jessie J has toured with Cyndi Lauper by the United Kingdom. To this end, she worked with Dr. Luke, BoB and Labrinth on her own debut album. The song Do It Like a Dude was the end of 2010 their first single and reached number two on the UK charts.
She has won the poll BBC Sound of 2011. Moreover, she won the critics' award at the BRIT Awards 2011. Already in February 2011 they released their second single taken together with BoB Price Tag that went straight away to square one. In Germany, the song made it to number three.
End of 2010, Jessie J released her debut single Do It Like a Dude. Originally Jessie wrote the song for Rihanna, so Jessie was also inspired by Rihanna's worldwide number -one hit Rude Boy and both songs share some similarities. Jessie J also had the desire, this song once with Rihanna to sing together. Critics praised the song. In the UK charts, the song reached number two. Their second single Price Tag was released in January 2011, it was a collaboration with U.S. rapper BoB The song went straight to number 1 on the UK charts and became Jessie's first number -one hit. On 1 February 2011 Price Tag was released in the United States and reached there went straight to number 23, the biggest success of her young career. Price Tag was a number -one hit in many other English-speaking countries. By October 2011, the music video was considered to Price Tag on the internet about 148 million times, so it is one of the most viewed music videos of all time. On March 12, 2011 Jessie J gave her first appearance on American television in NBC's Saturday Night Live.
Their debut album Who You Are, was released in Germany on February 28, 2011 in the UK on 12 April in the U.S. and on May 20. In Britain, Who You Are was certified platinum. Jessie J began work on her debut album in 2006 and finished it on January 19, 2011. The album was a worldwide success, reaching in many countries top ten rankings and in the United States in eleventh place. With the success of Who You Are in the U.S., Katy Perry Jessie J took over as the opening act for her California Dreams tour in the USA. In the summer of 2011 Jessie J Nobody's Perfect released as the third single, this song was again a top ten success in the British charts. At the MTV Video Music Awards 2011 Jessie J sang a lot of songs from their debut album and cover versions.
In 2011, Jessie J David Guetta along with the song on repeat. Thus, the song could still appear on Guetta's album Nothing but the Beat announced that publication of the already finished the album was postponed.
On 4 October Jessie J confirmed that she is a jury member and coach in the British singing talent show The Voice UK, which will be broadcast on BBC One to be, or has been the first season in 2012. For James Morrison's third album The Awakening both recorded the song up. It was released on December 4, 2011, and could reach number 19 in Germany. On 9 November 2011, she released a new version of Who You Are with two new songs, including her song Domino, which could be in the U.S. even more successful than Price Tag and there reached number six on the charts.
In their songs they handled issues such as bullying, self -conscious behavior and their own past (eg, Who's Laughing Now, Who You Are).
On August 12, 2012 Jessie J appeared at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London's Olympic Stadium and sang, among others, the title of We Will Rock You by Queen.
In the third season of The Voice UK will no longer be available.
In September 2013 released her second album called Alive. The first single game was released on May 26, 2013, and was able to reach number 5 on the UK charts. The second single is It's My Party. The third single was released in December 2013 Thunder. She launched the Alive tour in October 2013.
