Johan Fransson

Johan Fransson (born 18 February 1985 in Kalix ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is under contract with Luleå HF in the Elitserien since 2011.

Career

Johan Fransson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the Kalix HF, for whom he made ​​his debut in Division 1 in the 2000 /01 season. Then the defender moved to the junior level of Luleå HF, for which he was active from 2002 to 2006 in the Elitserien. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the second round than a total of 34 players from the Dallas Stars, for whom he never played, however. In the summer of 2006, the links Sagittarius signed a contract with their league rivals Frölunda HC, where he finished the season with Ässät Pori of the Finnish SM- liiga and the Swedish first division club Linköpings HC. In June, he received a contract for two years with the Los Angeles Kings, but did not make it in the NHL squad and should play for the Manchester Monarchs in the American Hockey League. Mid-October 2010 Fransson has been committed by the SKA St. Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League. For the Russians, he scored a total of 49 games six goals and twelve templates. He then returned to the 2011/12 season to his original club Luleå HF back.

Internationally

For Fransson Sweden took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 2004 and 2005.

At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki Fransson was part of the Men's National Team and won the gold medal with this.
