Jori Lehterä

Jori Lehterä ( born December 23, 1987 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is under contract with Sibir Novosibirsk HK in the Kontinental Hockey League since May 2011. His uncle Tero was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Jori Lehterä began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Jokerit Helsinki, for the first team, he was active in the 2006/07 season in the SM- liiga, having already during the previous year his debut for the Finnish U20 national team had given in the sub-prime Mestis. With Jokerit of the center in his rookie year was runner-up. He then moved to the league rivals Tappara Tampere, where he spent the next three seasons. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2008 in the third round than a total of 65 players from the St. Louis Blues, for which he, however, never played. In the 2009/10 season Lehterä could draw attention to himself when he was in 66 games scored 20 goals for Tappara and gave 59 templates. He was then elected to the All-Star team of the SM - liiga and received both the Lasse Oksanen trophy as - best player in the main round, as well as the Veli -Pekka Ketola trophy as - scorer. With 50 templates, he was also best assist provider of the Main Round. After this successful for him personally play time of the Left shooter for the season 2010/11 Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Kontinental Hockey League was committed. In May 2011, the Finn has signed a contract with the HK Sibir Novosibirsk.

Internationally

For Finland Lehterä participated in the World Cup 2010 in Germany, as well as in the years 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, at the Euro Hockey Tour in part. At the Olympic Games in 2014 he won the bronze medal with the Finnish national team.
