Jörn-Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen
Joern Uwe Fahrenkrog- Petersen ( born March 10, 1960 in Berlin ) is a German music producer and composer.
Life
Fahrenkrog -Petersen was keyboardist and composer of the New German Wave band Nena. He composed the music for songs like only dreamed or Somehow, Somewhere, Sometime and 99 balloons, which reached number two inter alia the U.S. Billboard charts. When the group disbanded in 1987, Fahrenkrog -Petersen went as a composer and producer in New York. There he founded together with singer Jean Beauvoir the heavy metal band Voodoo X, whose debut album was named The Awakening from the English Metal Hammer for rock album of the decade.
Back in Germany, he worked from 1992 four years at the rock musical Nostradamus, but which was never performed. In parallel, he continued to write music for German game shows and for the TV Awards Golden Camera. He composed the music for the opening ceremony of the Sony Center in Berlin, where he performed with the Japanese Kodo drum band. The internationally award-winning gold and platinum boy band * NSYNC was supplied by Fahrenkrog -Petersen with song material.
In January 2002, Fahrenkrog -Petersen renewed his collaboration with Nena. The result was the album Nena feat. Nena, an album of re-recordings of large Nena hits, which is 55 weeks in the German Media Control Charts ( Top 100 albums ) held.
As of May 2003, he worked as a composer and adjudicator in the TV casting show Popstars and sat parallel with his collaboration with Nena continued that with the single Love is another No. 1 hit brought the couple in 2005. Fahrenkrog -Petersen worked as a composer for international films, eg for the nominated two Golden Globes movie " Igby Goes Down " with Susan Sarandon and Jeff Goldblum. For the soundtrack, he focused on a mixture of Japanese taiko drums and the sounds of the Prague Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he produced and composed for the German girl band Fräuleinwunder their eponymous album.
Since 2011 Fahrenkrog -Petersen worked with former Modern Talking singer Thomas Anders as a songwriter, producer, and as a member of the duo " Anders - Fahrenkrog " together. The single ' Gigolo ' climbed only ranked 40, the album ' Two' made it to number eleven.
In 2012 he took part in the side of the dancer Helena Kaschurow on the fifth season of Let's Dance and retired with her in the first round.
His younger brother, Lutz Fahrenkrog -Petersen also worked as a producer (for example, for the band July) and teaches at the Research Center for Popular Music of the Humboldt University in Berlin.
