Josep Seguer

Josep Seguer Sans ( born May 6, 1923 in Parets del Vallès, † January 1, 2014 in Vandellòs i l' Hospitalet de l'Infant ) was a Spanish football player and coach.

Career

Beginning with the 1943 Seguer spent 14 seasons at FC Barcelona. During this time, the defender scored in 214 league games 38 goals, won five Spanish championships, twice the Latin Cup and the four Spanish Cup and the Spanish Super Cup. In the season 1951/52, he was part of the legendary Barça de les Cinc Copes ( five cups - Barça ), the latter all the cups and the Martini - Rossi Trophy took this season in a season.

On 1 June 1952 he won his first cap for Spain in a 6-0 win over Ireland. Overall, he played four times for the Spanish national team.

After his playing career in 1959 initially trained Seguer Betis Sevilla and 1964-1966 UE Lleida. In 1969, he returned as coach for FC Barcelona to replace Salvador Artigas. Seguer took over as an interim coach and was after ten league games replaced Vic Buckingham. From 1970 to 1972 he coached the second team of FC Barcelona, FC Barcelona Atlètic.

Seguer died on 1 January 2014.
