Joseph Ignace Randrianasolo

Joseph Ignace Randrianasolo ( born July 31, 1947 in Nandihizana, Madagascar; † 4 February 2010 Ankadifotsy, Madagascar ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Mahajanga.

Life

Joseph Ignace Randrianasolo received on 20 December 1975, the sacrament of Holy Orders. Between 1991 and 1995 he completed his doctoral studies in canon law in Rome. He taught at the seminary in Antananarivo.

On 24 October 1997, Pope John Paul II appointed auxiliary bishop in Antananarivo and titular bishop of Milevum. The Archbishop of Antananarivo Armand Gaétan Cardinal Razafindratandra consecrated him on 8 February of next year to the bishop; Were co-consecrators Adriano Bernardini, Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles and Albert Joseph Tsiahoana, Archbishop of Antsiranana.

Randrianasolo was appointed by the Pope as Bishop of Mahajanga on 3 June 1999. He was also Chairman of the Commission for the faith of the Episcopal Conference of Madagascar.

Two days after his by Pope Benedict XVI. instead given 2 February 2010 resignation for health reasons he died. He was supported as coadjutor bishop since 2008 by Roger Victor Rakotondrajao.
