Josipdol

Josipdol ( Ger. outdated Josephsthal ) is a town in central Croatia near Ogulin in Karlovac County. According to 2011 census, the settlement has 3,773 inhabitants.

Josipdol is located on the historically significant Josephine road ( kroat. Jozefina ), a former Salt Road, which runs from Karlovac to Senj and connects central Croatia with the coast.

Josipdol is an important railway station for the surrounding villages in the region. Not far from Josipdol in Oštarije is an important railway junction. Here, the railway lines from Rijeka and Split connect to Zagreb.

The city name would be translated literally hot in about Joseftal or Josef level.
