Josphat Kiprono Menjo

Josphat Kiprono Menjo ( born August 20, 1979 in Kapsabet ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

The fifth of ten siblings went first in the Kapkechui Primary and then in the Chemundu Secondary school. From 1998 on, he helped his father on the corn farm, while waiting to continue his education. In 2002 he enlisted in the Kenyan armed forces. There he began to take an interest in sports, and in 2004 he qualified for the national championships, where he finished third in the 5000m.

In 2006 he was at the track and Africa Championships in Bambous fifth over 5000 meters. The following year, he won over the same distance silver at the Pan-African Games in 2007, was 10,000 m eighth at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka and won the San Silvestre Vallecana.

From 2008 to 2010 he won the Cursa Bombers three times in a row. In his most recent victory, he missed the world record for 10 kilometers around three seconds. In the autumn he was second at the Portugal Half Marathon and won the Belgrade run through history.

Josphat Kiprono Menjo is 1,80 m tall and weighs 61 kg. He is coached by Julius Kirwa and supervised by manager David Kibelion. To his relationship included the successful marathon runner Josephat Kiprono. Menjo is married to his fellow runners Eunice Jepkorir.
