Juan Manuel Gárate

Juan Manuel Garate Cepa ( born April 24, 1976 in Irun, Spain ) is a Spanish cyclist.

Career

Garate was founded in 2000 with the Italian professional team Lampre. Already in 2001, he proved himself with good finishes, he finished seventh in the Tour de Suisse, Twentieth Giro d' Italia and won a stage of the Vuelta a España. Because his captain Gilberto Simoni changed in the following season, he was able to exit his own cap and showed his class with stage victories in the Tour de Suisse and the Giro del Trentino. He achieved an outstanding fourth place in the Giro d' Italia, which he confirmed in the following years with a tenth and a fifth place. 2005 drove Garate at Saunier Duval -Scott and was Spanish champion in the road race. 2006 -2008 he rode for the Belgian team Quick Step Innergetic, since 2009 for the Dutch team Rabobank. In the penultimate stage of the 2009 Tour de France he won the tough summit finish on Mont Ventoux.
