Jübar

Jübar is a municipality in the Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

Jübar is on the edge of Wismar forest. The highest point is the boat mountain with 111 meters above sea level. The western part of the municipality borders on the border with Lower Saxony, which largely takes place in this area along the ear.

Quarters are Bornsen, Drebenstedt, Gladdenstedt, Hanum, Jübar, Lüdelsen, Nettgau and Wendish Brome. Splitter settlements of the municipality are new barn, small and large Wismar Wismar.

History

Jübar found as Jubere in 1240 its first documentary mention. Until 1375 Jübar belonged to the monastery Isenhagen and then passed into the possession of the monastery this village.

The village Jübar 1308 is first mentioned. It is located in the Altmark, the medieval Northern March.
