Judit Magos-Havas

Judit Magos ( born February 19, 1954 in Budapest) is a Hungarian table tennis player. She is six -time European Champion.

Career

Magos began with 10 years of table tennis, as she watched a Japanese national team in Budapest. Based on this model they chose the Penholdergriff. She joined the club Statisztika Budapest. Trained and promoted it was here by Dr. Laszlo Ormai and his wife. Because of her talent, she was further promoted in cadres, here she worked together with the trainer Zoltán Berczik.

National success

1971 and 1972, she was Hungarian Champion in singles. In the doubles competition she won in 1969 ( with Eszter Juhos ), 1971, 1972, 1974, 1975 (with Henriette Lotaller ) and 1977 ( with Gabriella Szabó ). Five times she won the Mixed Competition: 1971, 1972, 1974, 1975 (with István Jonyer ) and 1980 ( with Tibor Klampar ).

With the team of Budapest Statisztika SC from 1969 to 1984 she won 15 times in a row the Hungarian Championship, also you got 13 ​​times the European Champions Cup.

European and World Championships

In 1974 Magos in Novi Sad, the European Championship in singles. She repeated this success in 1978 in Duisburg. 1972 and 1974 she was named Henrietta Lotaller double champion. 1972 and 1978 she won the team championship with Hungary.

From 1969 to 1979 she took part in six World Cups. In 1983 she resigned from the Hungarian national team after 234 inserts back.

Game in Germany

In the 1984/85 season Magos played at ATSV Saarbrücken. With this team she won 1985 German Championship and German Cup winner was. In 1985 she returned to Hungary and joined the club ESMZK Budapest, two years later she moved to German club DJK Elversberg where she finished her playing career at the end of the 1989/90 season.

Rankings

Private

Magos was married to 20 years older ballet dancers of the Hungarian State Opera Ferencz Havas. In November 1975, the daughter Timea was born. In 1988 she married the German table tennis player Peter Engel, who is currently working at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento of Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona). She also has a daughter, Stefanie Engel.
