Juha Riihijärvi

Juha Riihijärvi (born 15 December 1969 Keminmaa ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player who was most recently at the HC Bolzano in the Italian Serie A1 under contract. His son, Alexis is also a hockey player.

Career

Juha Riihijärvi began his career at Oulu Kärpät where he was under contract four seasons (two years in the first Finnish League and two in the second ). In 1991 he moved to JYP Jyväskylä where he signed a two year contract. For the 1993/94 season he moved to the American Hockey League, where he rushed for the Cape Breton Oilers. Already in the following year he return again to Finland and signed a contract with Rauman Lukko in which he also persevered in the coming year. In 1996 he succeeded after a good performance at the Finnish national team made ​​it into the first Swedish league. He rushed eight years for Malmö Redhawks. In the season 2004/ 05 he moved to the National League B for EHC Basel. In the same season he played two games in the first division in Switzerland for HC Ambri -Piotta. 2005 to 2007 he played for Malmö Redhawks. In 2007 he moved to Denmark to Rødovre Mighty Bulls where he rose in 50 games on 65 points scorer. Also in Austria Juha Riihijärvi halted: he played in the 2008/ 09 season for the Vienna Capitals.
