Julie & Julia

Julie & Julia is a 2009 comedy film released by Nora Ephron, who also wrote the screenplay based on a book by Julie Powell. The film focuses on the beginnings of the cooking career of Julia Child against the ambitious endeavor of Julie Powell, nachzukochen all 524 recipes from Child's cookbook in one year. Ephron's screenplay is based on two books: My Life in France, Child's autobiography, which she wrote with Alex Prud'homme, and the memoir by Julie Powell. Publication

The official movie premiere took place on 30 July 2009 at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York. In the U.S. theaters the movie was released on August 7, 2009 theatrical release in Germany was on September 3, 2009.

Awards

Actress Meryl Streep was awarded in 2010 for her role including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy / Musical, she was also nominated for an Oscar.
