Julio Grondona

Julio Humberto Grondona ( born September 18, 1931 in Avellaneda ) is an Argentine football official. He is since 1979 President of the Argentine Football Association.

With his brother Grondona 1957, Arsenal de Sarandi football club, which he chaired until 1976. He then became president of the football club CA Independiente for five years. In 1979 he was first elected president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA ). His last election for the ninth term of office in October 2011.

Since 1988 he is a member of the FIFA Executive Committee. He is Chairman of the Finance Committee and Office eldest Vice President of the FIFA Executive ( Senior Vice President ).

Since 2011 is determined against Grondona of Argentina on suspicion of corruption, money laundering and tax evasion in a high double-digit million range.
