Kadir Özcan

Ömer Özcan Kadir ( born June 26, 1952 in Akçaabat, † October 22, 2013 in Trabzon ) was a Turkish football player and coach. Through his many years of service for Trabzonspor he is strongly associated with this club. In fan - club page as he is seen as one of the greatest players in the club's history. He was a key member of the team that became the first Anatolian team win the Turkish Cup. Özcan started playing football in the street and was then discovered for the youth team of his home club Sebat Gençlik SK. From 1969 he played here for the first men's team and took third in the league 1970/71 season with his team for the first time in the Turkish professional football part. Due to its impressive performance at Trabzonspor Özcan was nominated in 1975 for the Turkish U- 21 team and completed for these five games.

In the summer of the same year he was nominated by the then national coach Coşkun Özarı in the squad of the Turkish national team. In the EM1976 qualifier against the Irish national team, he made ​​his international debut. The next one and a half years, he was nominated regularly and completed it five internationals.

Coaching career

Following his football career as a player Özcan moved into coaching skilled and trained mainly clubs in the Turkish Black Sea region. In October 1997 he took over his old club Trabzonspor the post of assistant coach and assisted Yılmaz Vural here.

For the 2013/14 season he took over the second team Trabzonspor, the second division in 1461 Trabzon.

Death

On October 22, 2013 Kadir Ozcan died after a heart attack. On October 23, he was buried in his hometown Akçaabat after noon prayers in the mosque in Ak Dürbinar cemetery. At his funeral was attended by several sizes of Turkish football as Fatih Terim, İbrahim Haciosmanoglu and Şenol Güneş.
