Kamianka-Buzka

Kamianka - Buska (Ukrainian Кам'янка - Бузька; Каменка-Бугская/Kamenka-Bugskaja Russian, Polish Kamionka Bużańska - formerly Kamionka Strumiłowa ) is a city in the Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine with about 10,800 inhabitants ( 2013). The city is the administrative center of Rajons Kamianka - Buska.

It is divided into the actual city and the two villages Sabuschschja ( Забужжя ) and TaDani ( Тадані ).

Location

Kamianka - Buska is located about 38 km north-east of Lviv and 96 km south-west of Lutsk on the highway N17 to Lutsk. The Bug River flows from the east into town and turns thence north.

History

The first written mention of Kamianka - Buska was 1411. Between 1919 and 1939, the village belonged to Poland and was in 1921 in the province Tarnopol. Since 1939/45 the city is a part of Ukraine.

1910, a station on the present railway line was opened in Lviv - Kiwerzi place.
