Kandyse McClure

Kandyse McClure ( born March 22, 1980 in Durban, South Africa, born as Candice McClure ) is a living actress in Canada.

Life

Kandyse McClure grew up in Durban and lives in Vancouver. After she finished high school in 1999, she wanted a medical career. By the time she had finally decided which direction should take their lives, McClure worked in Vancouver as a temp. An acting career she had not yet been considered, even though she had often danced in her hometown of Durban as a child for fun, singing and costumes themselves. Her mother motivated to an audition for a play at the Vancouver International Fringe Festival; their own motivation was to find between the two jobs as a waitress a little fun and variety. McClure's role in Athol Fugard's Valley Song - an 18 year old South African girl named Veronica - seemed by their very nature and their own experiences in South Africa to match, which is why they are despite the lack of an acting experience zutraute to participate in the demand for content is the work of the South African writer. The theater production was a success and sold out every performance.

Film and Television

Shortly after the performance of Athol Fugard's Valley Song received a phone call Kandyse McClure from talent scout Richard Lucas. One of his longtime customers had seen her portrayal of Veronica and was so impressed that he harassed Lucas to take McClure under contract. Although Lucas had their lack of acting training for doubt, he followed his instinct and became her agent. Within no time she had her first audition for a supporting role on the side of Lou Diamond Phillips in the U.S. feature film In a Class of His Own (1999), a few months later a smaller supporting role in Romeo Must Die (2000) with Isaiah Washington and Jet Li

To compensate for their lack of acting training, she took every opportunity to gain practical experience true, and a few weeks later she played the lead role of Catherine Ann Cabot in the 22 -part youth drama Higher Ground (2000) with Hayden Christensen. The continuing good reviews for her dramatic performances displaced the original intent of a medical career, and McClure wanted to be able to qualify for different possible roles. To this end, she took courses at the Lyric School of Acting, when David Rotenberg 's Professional Actors Lab in Vancouver and at The Larry Moss Studio in Los Angeles. McClure was soon to be extremely disciplined young talent who practiced tirelessly and took every opportunity to improve acting skills. She is grateful, yet to the majority embody roles of strong and intelligent women:

In quick succession McClure received more offers to start in television series of the Fox Network, such as Da Vinci 's Inquest (2000-2005) as recurring character Elizabeth Munroe on Showtime End Time Series Drama Jeremiah by J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5) and as Annie Fisher in Dark Angel, as well as a starring role in the feature film Passion and Prejudice (2001) with Frances Fisher. The following year, she appeared in two thrillers with: The Master Criminal with Rob Lowe and Sam Neill and LA Law - The Movie. Their increasing popularity helped her quickly to guest appearances on The Outer Limits - The unknown dimension, Jake 2.0, The Twilight Zone, Andromeda and Smallville. For her portrayal of Sue Snell in the NBC remake of Carrie ( 2002) Stephen King novel adaptation, she received consistently good reviews and praise.

In Battlestar Galactica embodied Kandyse McClure from 2003 to 2009 Anastasia Dualla Dee ( voiced by Natasha Geisler ), a supporting role ( co-star ) in 63 of a total of 73 episodes. Their popularity within the series is demonstrated by a humorous caricature of the comic artist Dylan Meconis ( Battlestar Galactic Simpsons ). In the cast of the original series Battlestar Galactica (1978 ) was not intended by its embodied character. Battlestar Galactica is the award-winning remake of the sci-fi classic Battlestar Galactica, produced by the SciFi Channel, and was broadcast in a two part mini-series (2003) and since 2004 in four seasons and a feature-length episode.

Current Projects

McClure supports charitable institutions Hoops 4 Hope and Babz Chula Lifeline for Artists Society. On 23 May 2008, she hosted the anniversary meeting of the Leo Awards in Vancouver. As part of the audiobook series Metatropolis it acts as narrator of the short story "The Red in the Sky is Our Blood," the Hugo -winning actress Elizabeth Bear. Mclure embodied in the ABC series Reaper - A Terrible job so far (January 2009) four episodes of the recurring character Cassidy and acts in the Canadian television series Sanctuary - Keeper of the creatures in a guest role with. In Bogotá and Los Angeles, the ambitious feature film Broken Kingdom is (working title: The Disposables Los Desechables respectively ) in production, in the Kandyse McClure will play a major role on the side of Rachael Leigh Cook and Seymour Cassel. Directed by Daniel Gillies ( comes from him also wrote the screenplay ), with whom she has collaborated in several television and film projects. The shooting of the feature film Cole have been completed, and the remake of Stephen King's Children of the Corn ( Children of the Corn ) is in post-production.
