Karl-Heinz Emig

Karl -Heinz Emig ( born June 29, 1962 in Mannheim ) is a German football coach and former football player.

Career

Emig was in his active career as a defender at Waldhof Mannheim, Hertha BSC, Darmstadt 98, Kaiserslautern, Unterhaching, Wolfsburg and Eintracht Trier under contract. He completed 292 secondary and 64 Erstligaeinsätze. The greatest success of his career was the DFB Cup victory in 1990 with the first FC Kaiserslautern.

His coaching career began Emig in November 1996 as head coach of Eintracht Trier. With the third division in 1998 he reached the semi-finals of the DFB Cup. He then worked as an A youth coach and since 2000 as an assistant coach under Andreas Brehme at the 1 FC Kaiserslautern and was in August and September 2002 after the dismissal Brehmes briefly caretaker manager of the Red Devils. The only competitive game Emigs as a responsible coach was the DFB Cup first round game against the USC - Paloma Hamburg (5-0 ). Then he assisted Eric Gerets and Kurt Jara. From July 2004 to December 2006 Emig served as an assistant coach Markus Schupp at second division Wacker Burghausen. From July 2008, he coached the U-17 League team of the 1st FC Kaiserslautern.

9 January 2010 Emig was engaged as assistant coach of the second division club Karlsruher SC, where he works as it did in Burghausen with head coach Markus Schupp together. On October 31, 2010, the KSC separated by a series of five defeats in six games by agreement between coach Markus Schupp, so had to co- coach Karl -Heinz Emig go.

During the 2011/12 season Emig began working as an assistant coach at Rot-Weiss Oberhausen under head coach Mario Basler. In April 2012, extended Rot-Weiß Oberhausen contract with Emig prematurely for the 2012/13 season.
