Karma Code is the fourth album by the Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil. The album was released on 31 March 2006 via Century Media.
Music style
With Karma code, the band made a slight course correction. The famous Gothic Metal sound was with elements of nu metal, such as down-tuned guitars, supplemented. The many tours in the USA and the preference of the band members of bands like Korn have left their mark.
Special
Without fear is the fourth song of the band's history with Italian text. In addition, the album includes a cover of Depeche Mode song Enjoy the Silence. A total of three singles were released from the album: Our Truth, Enjoy the Silence and Closer. At all three songs video clips were filmed. Our Truth is also on the soundtrack to the movie Underworld: Evolution published.
The album was produced by Waldemar Sorychta. The album was recorded at the Woodhouse Studios in Hagen.
Reception
The album received mostly good reviews on the part of music journalists. The supporters reacted split on the new album. In many cases, the band was accused of currying favor with the album to the American market. In the U.S. charts the album was number 28 in Germany and number 43 in the UK 47th place
Until the publication of the follow-up album Shallow Life is karma Code sold in the U.S., about 200,000 times.
