In a Reverie (English for In a reverie ) is the first studio album by Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil. It was released on 16 February 1999 via Century Media.

Origin and background

After the debut EP released in 1997 Raffaele Zagaria, Claudio Leo, and Leonardo Forti left the band. They were replaced by Cristiano Migliore and Cristiano Mozzate. In the new line-up the band went first opening for Moonspell and The Gathering on tour, which had a positive impact, according to singer Cristina Scabbia on the group. The acquired in summer 1998 song material was harder and less progressive than the title of the EP.

The music was written by Marco Coti Zelati and Cristiano Migliore, the texts of Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro. The recordings took place in the Woodhouse Studios in Hagen in October and November 1998. The album was produced by Waldemar Sorychta, who also wrote the music for the song To Myself I Turned. Falling Again is a remake of the song Falling from the debut EP.
