The Keflavik Airport ( IATA code KEF, ICAO code BIKF, isl. Keflavíkurflugvöllur, Eng. Keflavík International Airport ) is an international airport in Iceland and at the same time a NATO airbase. The terminal of the airport is named Flugstöð Leif Eiríkssonar or short Leifsstöð ( Leif Eriksson - terminal).

Domestic flights and flights to Greenland ( with the exception of flights from Air Greenland ) and the Faroe Islands are not handled through the airport Keflavik, but about the airport Reykjavik, which is located directly in the capital.

Geography

The airport is located 50 km southwest of Iceland's capital Reykjavik on the Reykjanesskagi peninsula at Keflavík.

Transport links

Bus connection: between the bus terminal BSÍ in central Reykjavík and the international airport of flybus society Reykjavík Excursions wrong - Kynnisferðir and the Airport Express bus company " Iceland -Excursions ". Delta Air Lines joined in summer 2011 to Keflavík Airport five times a week with New York ( JFK).
