Kell am See (Verbandsgemeinde)

The community association Kell am See is located in the southern part of the district Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. The municipality consists of 13 autonomous communities as the administrative headquarters are in Kell am See. The territory of the municipality lies in the nature park Saar -Hunsrück.

History
The community association Kell has existed since November 7, 1970, when as part of the administrative and territorial reform in Rhineland -Palatinate from the communities of the previous municipality Kell except Hinzenburg that came to the municipality Ruwer, and lying in the high forest communities of the municipality Saarburg East a new community association Kell was formed. The name change to " community association Kell am See " took place on 24 March 1992.

The association council Kell am See consists of 24 volunteer council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the full-time mayor as chairman.
