Geography

The community vats located on the edge of the Black Forest in 190-270 meters altitude, close to the cities of Pforzheim (8 km ) and Karlsruhe (25 km).

Community structure

The municipality wine presses consists of the five districts Dietlingen ( 3940 inhabitants), Ellmendingen ( 2502 inhabitants), Weiler ( 1381 inhabitants), Niebelsbach ( 895 inhabitants) and Dietenhausen ( 356 inhabitants) (as at 31 December 2009) .. The districts are spatially identical with the former municipalities of the same name, its official designation has been made in the form " wine presses ... ".

Among the districts Dietenhausen, Ellmendingen, Niebelsbach and hamlets in each case include only the villages of the same name. The hamlet Dietlingen include the village Dietlingen and the houses Gauchhälde, in the foxhole and Reihelberg. In the district Dietenhausen is the deserted village Delebrunnen.

History

From 1901 to 1967, the districts were vinification verkehrlich connected by the on mountain running, panoramic train called in 1911 to become Pforzheimer small railway railroad in the Albtalbahn. The municipality wine presses was formed on 30 March 1972 by the Association of Municipalities Dietlingen, Ellmendingen, Niebelsbach and hamlets. The community Dietenhausen was incorporated into Ellmendingen on July 1, 1971.

Districts

Dietenhausen

The place was called Theo 919 Tele Husen at its first mention in years. Until the 17th century, the domination of the community were very complicated. The Cistercian abbey Herrenalb and the Junkers of Enzberg had rights to the place. With the Reformation the monastery in 1536 Württemberg got the local rule. The Margraviate of Baden ruled the city from 1603. Dietenhausen Only belonged to the Official Langensteinbach, then to the Office of stone. From 1803 on, then to the upper office, then to the district office and from 1936 to 1972 the district of Pforzheim.

Dietlingen

Between 1771 and 1801 Dietlingen was next Bahlingen and Teningen one of the patterns villages in the Margraviate of Baden, where the economic system of the physiocrats was introduced. It was the world's only known attempt to introduce this economic theory, to his followers in Germany the political economist Johann August Schlettwein was said to have the Margrave Karl Friedrich of this system convinced.

In Dietlingen the trial began in 1770 and was definitively discontinued after a modification (1795 ) in 1801. Coat of arms

Culture and sights

Structures

In Ellmendingen and Dietlingen churches have been preserved in the Gothic style of the 15th century. The Barbara Church in Ellmendingen has special window with " biblical traffic signs ". The place is also a wine press from the 16th century. Worth mentioning is also the superbly situated Pancras Chapel in Niebelsbach who also built in the 15th century, the house still retains its old, hand-carved pews.

Natural Monuments

Pine and mixed forests form together with 940 hectares half of the districts. Due to its natural beauty, the typical orchard inventory of rare plants and large areas have been designated as landscape and nature conservation areas. Should not go unmentioned that is produced in vats of several winemakers around 35 hectares of vineyards and also marketed for the most part on the spot. Typical are Pinot Noir ( pinot noir ), Pinot Meunier ( pinot meunier ) than red wines, as well as rivaner and White Burgundy varieties than whites. The two largest wineries in place in other economies according to the guidelines of organic viticulture and offer their wines at the Ecovin logo.
