Ken Henry (speed skater)

Kenneth Charles " Ken " Henry ( born January 7, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, † March 1, 2009 in Lake Bluff, Illinois) was an American speed skater.

He won the gold medal over 500 meters at the Olympic Winter Games 1952 in Oslo. 28,000 spectators were present at the Bislett Stadium his victory in 43.2 seconds at. At the games in 1956, he was fourth on this track.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, he wore at the opening ceremony, the torch into the stadium. Eight years later he was in Grenoble head coach of the U.S. speed skating team.
