Kyriakos "Kenny" Stamatopoulos (Greek Κυριάκος Σταματόπουλος, born August 28, 1979 in Kalamata, Greece ) is a Greek- Canadian soccer goalkeeper. He currently plays for AIK in the highest division in Sweden, Allsvenskan.

Career

The beginnings

At the age of six months, his family moved with him in Canada's largest city, Toronto. In his youth he played a lot of hockey, but also baseball and American football. At age 17, his family decided to move back to Greece, where he began his active career as a soccer goalkeeper.

Goalkeeper career

Stamatopoulos began his career at Kalamata FC in the Greek second highest league, the Beta Ethniki. For the Kalamata FC, ​​he came up to his departure for Enköpings SK in the second highest Swedish league, which Superettan, in 2003, to ten inserts. For the 2010 season, he was awarded to the Swedish first division club AIK Solna.

Internationally

Overall Stamatopoulos came to five appearances for the Canadian national team. His first try for the national team he had in 2001 after a Substitutes. In 2001 he participated with the Canadian U -23 at the Jeux de la Francophonie. 2002 and 2009, he was a goalkeeper in the squad at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
