Khasani

Khasani (also: Kasani ) is a village in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Khasani is a village in Canton Lokha district ( bolivian: municipality ) in the province of Manco Kapac Copacabana, near the border with the Republic of Peru. The village is situated in the southern part of Lake Titicaca at an altitude of 3830 m on a peninsula that connects the Peruvian territory with the county Copacabana.

Geography

Khasani located on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges, the Cordillera Occidental and the Cordillera Central in the west to the east. The climate of the region is a typical diurnal climate, in which the mean fluctuation of daily temperatures is more distinct than the fluctuation of temperatures during the year.

Khasani lies at a distance of 155 kilometers of road north-west of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz the paved highway Ruta 2 leads in a northwesterly direction over Huarina to San Pablo de Tiquina on Lake Titicaca, where the road from Tiquina is crossed with boats and reached after a further 40 kilometers, the country town of Copacabana. From there, the Ruta 2 continues south to Khasani. Nearest town across the border on Peruvian territory is the small town Yunguyo. Population
