Kim Tae-kyun

Kim Tae- kyun (* May 29, 1982 in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam -do) is a South Korean baseball player on the position of the first baseman. From 2001 to 2009 he played for the Hanwha Eagles in the South Korean league, then from 2010 to 2011 Chiba Lotte Marines in the Japanese Pacific League. With the national team he won the 2006 bronze, 2009, the silver medal at the World Baseball Classic ( WBC), in which he was also nominated in the All- WBC team in 2009.

Kim attended bugil High School in Dongnam -gu Cheonan and in 2000 was a member of the South Korean team at the U18 World Youth Championship of IBAF in Canada. As a fielder, he was twice, 2005 and 2008, the Golden Glove as a first baseman. 2008, when he led the league with 31 home runs, he was in the MVP voting for the third place.

After the 2009 season, Kim became a free agent and the league gave the Chiba Lotte Marines permission to start negotiations for a change in the Japanese league. He signed a two-year contract (with a club option) about 150 million yen. In his first season in the Marines, he had 141 missions ( in 144 games overall ) in the regular season and then reached with his team the championship series in 2010, which ended with a 4-2 victory over the Chunichi Dragons. During the 2011 season, Kim returned in June back to Korea to be treated a back injury; in July he announced after only 31 Season inserts his intention to leave the Marines in 2011 and is in the offseason free agent again in 2011 in the Korean league.

In the Japanese League although he was registered with his full name as金泰 均, but his jersey Latin inscription was in the Marines only his first name as TAEKYUN. He wears the number 52, which he had worn during his career with the Eagles.
