Geographical Location

The geographic center of Bavaria is located approximately 500 m east of Kipfenberg. 2000 years ago led the limit, now a World Heritage Site, exactly through the center.

History

Attractions

  • The medieval castle Kipfenberg. The castle is privately owned and is not visitable. In an outbuilding of the castle and the Roman Bajuwarenmuseum Kipfenberg Castle is housed with the integrated Limes Info Point.

Culture

One of the oldest customs and traditions in Kipfenberger Carnival is the Fasenickl with impressive costumes. The nickname of Kipfenberger is Goaßhenker.

Regular events

The Limes hard, Kipfenberg historical festival, is held each year around 15 August ( Assumption). Even the Easter fountain, which is set up every year before Easter on the market place is worth seeing.

Early October instead of " Altmühltherme Talerer lamb output " in the district Böhming. Also, the Day of bike, the local mountain bike marathon in September, has evolved in recent years to become a magnet for visitors.
