Kozlovka, Kozlovsky District, Chuvash Republic

Koslowka (Russian Козловка, Chuvash Куславкка / Kuslawkka ) is a town in the Chuvash Republic (Russia) with 10,359 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located about 95 km south-east of the Republic capital Cheboksary on the right bank of the Volga River, opposite the city Wolschsk (Republic of Mari El).

Koslowka is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.

History

The village Koslowka was already known before the 19th century, received in 1938 the status of an urban-type settlement and 1967 city law.
