Křižanov (Písek District)

Křižanov until 1924 Krizanov ( German Krischanow, formerly Křižanow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south of Milevsko in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Pisek.

Geography

Křižanov is located in the south of belonging to the Central Bohemian hills Milevská pahorkatina. The village is located in the headwaters of the creek Křižanovský creek, the south-west of Křižanov fishpond discharges into the creek BILINSKY ( Borowaner Bach) in the pond Veselský. To the north- west is the pond Velky Prachovský rybnik, runs behind the railway line Tábor Pisek. To the north, the Lomy rise (518 m), in the northeast of Vlčí vrch (517 m), southeast the Kupa (503 m), in the south the Na Varte ( 480 m) and in the west the Obora (570 m). West of Křižanov runs the state road II/105 between Milevsko and Bernartice, from a spur road leads to the village.

History

Křižanov probably belonged since the 13th century to the possessions of the Premonstratensian Mühlhausen. The monastery was destroyed on 23 April 1420 by the Hussites, where all documents were lost. Then the Klingenberg castle count Jan Hájek of Hodětín slammed the orphaned monastic estates of royal rule Klingenberg. After in 1430 the Hussites besieged castle Klingenberg, pledged by King Sigismund the reign 1431 to Ulrich von Rosenberg because he feared that his Burggraf Kunata Kapler would soon spill over to the insurgents. The first written mention of Křižanov dates back to 1488th After Christoph von swan mountain was deceased in 1534, was in 1540 a division of Klingenberg goods, where his second son John of Swan Mountain was given dominion Mühlhausen. At that included, in addition Křižanov including the villages Stehlovice, Bilina, Branice, Veseli, Rukáveč, Velka, Kučeř and Květov. In 1783, the childless Johann Nepomuk Chlumčanský sold the estate Veselíčko his brother Josef Bretfeld to Kronenburg. In 1840 Křižanow consisted of 29 houses with 202 inhabitants, including two Israelite families. In the village there was a tavern. The main source of income was the agriculture. Vicarage was Weseličko. On May 1, 1843 Bretfeldschen heirs sold the property to Johann Nepomuk Nádherný. Until the mid- 19th century, the village always the Allodialgut Weseličko remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Křižanov / Křižanow formed with the district Bilina 1850 a municipality in the district court and district Milevsko. Milevsko - - Pisek - On November 20, 1889, the railway line Tabor took Ražice on the traffic. 1890 sparked Bilina from Křižanov off and formed its own community.
