Křižanovice (Vyškov District)

Křižanovice ( German Krischanowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-east of Slavkov and belongs to Okres Vyškov.

Geography

Křižanovice located between the foothills of the Litenčická pahorkatina and Steinitzer forest in the valley of Litava ( Leitha ). The center of the applied as Angersdorf resort is on the left side of the Litava on a creek meanders, to the south by the Křižanovický hill. In the north, the Vinohrad (336 m) rises. On the right bank of the Litava the state road I/50/E 50 and the railway line leading from Brno to Wlarapass by Křižanovice where the town has a railway station.

Neighboring towns are Dražovice in the north, Letonice in the northeast, Marefy in the east, in the southeast Mouřínov, Rašovice in the south, Heršpice in the southwest, and Hodějice Slavkov in the west and Němčany in the northwest.

History

Archaeological finds evidence of a settlement of the area since the Paleolithic.

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1141 in a deed of the Olomouc bishop Jindřich Zdík. After numerous changes of owners acquired the property in the 16th century January Šembera Černohorský of Boskowitz. After the Boskovice 1597 extinct in the male line, Letošov fell to the Liechtenstein family. Later owners were the Counts of Kaunitz and the family of Taul Rosenthal. From 30 November to 1 December 1805 slept in Křižanovice Tsar Alexander I and Emperor Francis II, the next day took both at the hl. Fair part.

After the abolition of patrimonial Křižanovice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Wischau. In 1881 a new school building was built. The volunteer fire department was founded in 1904. Between 1949 and 1959 the village belonged to Okres Bučovice and came to its repeal back to Okres Vyškov. In 1950 the nursery has been established. 1976 Křižanovice was incorporated into Rašovice. 1977 the school moved into a new building. Since 1990, the community is Křižanovice again.
