Krmelín

Krmelín ( German Kermelin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers south of the center of Ostrava and belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek.

Geography

Krmelín at the foot of Krmelinský Kopec (327 m) on a ridge between the valleys of Olešná and Ondřejnice in the northern foothills of Beskidenvorlandes. East of the village, the railway siding of Vratimov for coal mine Staříč II passes through the town of the state road 58 from Ostrava Ostrava leads to the airport.

History

The first written mention of the village Lehn Paskov associated Krmelyn was 1447th In the village there used to be a Ausspanne for the teamsters on the way from Ostrava according to Brown Mountain, Hochwald and Altendorf. At the same sources on Kermeliner mountain for their good drinking water were known. After the establishment of the rule Paskov by John of Pernštejna in 1538 Krmelín belonged to repealing patrimonial continuously to this.

1850 he produced the municipality Krmelín / Kermelin in the district Mistek, which included the districts Světlov / Lichtenberg and Světlov / Althof. In 1896, the municipality was assigned to the district Ostrava. In 1895, work began on the construction of a church. A short time later, the work was stopped because priority was to repair the damage in the village of a major fire. In 1900 the church was finally completed. In the last days of the Moravian Ostrava operation Krmelín was taken on 2 May 1945 by the Red Army after heavy fighting. The church was ruined by 14 shell impacts. The German troops had been erected at the church a line of defense. Between 1945 and 1946 followed the reconstruction and enlargement of the church. After the Second World War came to Krmelín Okres Ostrava- okolí and since 1961 the village belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek. Krmelín today consists of 617 homes.
