Krzyżowa Dolina

Krzyżowa Dolina ( German: Kreuzthal ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Krzyżowa Dolina is located in the urban and rural community Ozimek ( Malapane ) in Opolski powiat (district Opole ) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Krzyżowa Dolina is located three kilometers south of the parish seat Ozimek ( Malapane ) and 21 kilometers east of the county town of Opole and voivodship.

History

Kreuzthal was founded in 1771 as a royal colony and colonists had 20 points. The colony after Ehrenreich Bogislaus of Creutz (approx. 1670-1733 ), the Prussian Minister of State and Cabinet Secretary was named was under King Friedrich Wilhelm I.. Accordingly, the village name was initially written Creutz valley. When the first colonists houses it was wooden huts. Since the colony was founded in the middle of a forest, the colonists first had to clear trees to create country. The colonists came from the neighboring villages and Schodnia Krasiejów. Each colonists site received 18 acres of fields and six acres of meadow. 1783 were given the colonists a further six acres of land and 8.5 acres of land in 1823.

In 1865 the town had 14 whole and half twelve colony sites, 21 acre smallholdings, 13 Anger smallholdings, 24 granny and 25 Auszügler. At this time, the Catholic school was one of 85 students.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 59 voters to remain in Germany and 228 for belonging to Poland. Kreuzthal remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 568 inhabitants in the village. 1939, the place had 620 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Opole.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and the Silesian Voivodeship was connected and renamed Krzyżowa Dolina. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship and since 1999 he is part of the re-established powiat Opolski. In 1998 the school was closed. On 31 December 2005, the town had 776 inhabitants. 2001, established a chapel and a meeting place in the former school building. The chapel was dedicated to St. Liborius. From 2004 to 2006, a bell tower for the chapel was built, in the three bells were hung. They were St. Joseph, St. Mary and St. Liborius consecrated in 2006.
