Księży Las, Opole Voivodeship

Księży Las ( German Xionslas ) is a place for Olschowa associated hamlet in Upper Silesia. The Barbican Księży Las located in the municipality Ujest in the Strzelecki powiat ( county United Strehlitz ) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

In some documents from the 19th century we find the spelling of the place name Ksionslas.

Księży Las is located ten kilometers north- west of the parish seat Ujest four kilometers south of the county town Strzelce and 34 kilometers southeast of the Opole voivodship.

North of Las Księży is the Ischl tower. This is achievable through an avenue that Opole ( United Strehlitz ) leads to the castle park in Strzelce.

History

In the hallway " Ksiądzlas ", which is now home to the place, bought according to the purchase letter of 5 May 1766 free gardener Thomas Lippok from Dollna a Hube and 30 acres of land. Imperial Count Philip of Colonna bought it for him in exchange. Built in 1795, Count Philip of Colonna on the premises a Vorwerk and named it after the old geographical names Ksiądzlas Xionslas.

After the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 Xionslas remained with the German Reich. In the 1930s, the town was renamed in Andreashof. By 1945, the place was in the district of Great Strehlitz.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Las Księży and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. After 1945, the Vorwerk was used as PGR. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Strzelecki. On 28 August 2006, the Las Księży German was in the community Ujest, plays, introduced as a second official language.
