Kukka is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Pühalepa ( Pühalepa vald ). It is the second largest Estonian island of Hiiumaa ( German Dagö ).

Description

Kukka has 11 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) .. The place is located seven kilometers south-east of the island's capital Kärdla. The origins date back to the Wackendorf Kucku that is recorded from 1565.

The historical windmill Kukka is the summer home of the Estonian literary couple Paul- Eerik Rummo and Viiu Härm.

Kukka Stone

The Stone of Kukka ( Kukka kivi ) is the fifth largest boulder of Estonia and the largest on the island of Hiiumaa. The granite block has a volume of 324 m above the ground. It is 16.4 m long, 11 m wide and 3.7 m high. Seim circumference is 42 m.

The entire area is covered with stones, which offered the people of Hiiumaa material for numerous legends.
