Kurt Stein

Kurt R. Stein (* June 30, 1970 in Madison, Wisconsin ) is a former American ski jumper.

Career

Stone was on December 30, 1988 with the opening event for the Four Hills Tournament 1988/89 in Oberstdorf his debut in the World Cup Ski Jumping. However, during the entire tour he managed not one of the top places. After rank 82, he scored the best individual result of the Tournament in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he finished them in the standings only on the 80th place.

In the following Nordic World Ski Championships 1989 in Lahti, he jumped from the large hill at 71 and 82.5 meters, reaching rank 62 from the normal hill he jumped to 75.5 meters, which he left after passing one as 53. Together with Mark Konopacke, Ted Langlois and Mike Holland, he could reach the 13th place in the team competition.

In the next World Cup Jumping 1989 Stone continue to get no points standings. In January 1990, with the 35th place in Zakopane he achieved the best individual result of his World Cup career. In the following Ski-Flying World Championships 1990 in Vikersund flew stone on the 53rd place. After he also remained without scoring points, stone rose in December 1990 out of the World Cup and joined the 1991/92 season in the ski jumping Continental newly created. But he could not prevail there as well and had no success points.

In December 1992, he came for two World Cup competition in Ruhpolding Falun and back again in the A-National squad, but missed another good placement and landed just beyond the top 50

His last international tournament he played at the age of 23 years with the launch at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. He denied jumping on the large hill and landed after jumps of 85.5 and 89.5 on the 11th Place.

Since the end of his career, Stone has worked as a coach at Blackhawk Ski Club in his hometown of Madison.
