La Banda, Argentina

La Banda is the capital of the department of Banda in the province of Santiago del Estero in northwestern Argentina. The city is located eight kilometers from the provincial capital Santiago del Estero, only separated by the course of the Río Dulce. Two bridges connect the two cities, which together form an agglomerate. With its 95,000 inhabitants, La Banda is the second largest city of the province.

La Banda is connected to the railway Ferrocarril General Mitre, which runs once a week to San Miguel de Tucuman and Buenos Aires.
