La Chapelle-Saint-Sauveur, Saône-et-Loire

La Chapelle -Saint -Sauveur is a French commune, located in the department of Saône- et- Loire in the Burgundy region. It belongs to the district Louhans and Canton Pierre -de- Bresse. The village has 673 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The inhabitants are Chapalais, respectively. Chapalaises called.

Geography

The municipality is located in the countryside of the Bresse, approximately five kilometers south of Canton main town Pierre -de- Bresse and has a large number of fish-filled ponds (French Étangs ), which are from the Jurassic period, as retired sea, remained. The place is heavily agricultural. The commune includes the following hamlets: Alloise, Boibe, Bois- Brûlé, Bois- d'Amange, Bois- d'Avaux, Borgeot, Boucharde, Bourgneuf, Buisson -Jean- Chêne, Champ- Renaud, Chavenne, Chavenotte, Cinq- Chenes, Corbeau Dombe, Etang -des- Bois, Malatière, mass, moth, Parays, Pernards, Pitour, Prames, Préziard, Quemine, ranches, Reure, Ville- Lambert, Vineaux.

Etymology

The place was in 1141 called Ecclesia de Capella (designation for churches or chapels in the country which do not form their own parish ) and 1313, the name was Ville de la Chapelle Saint Sauveur en Bresse ( site of the chapel of the Holy Savior in Bresse ).

History

The old village was located a few hundred meters east of the present town, between the hamlets of mass and Les Pernards and was already settled to Gallo-Roman times. The church was dedicated to Saint Nicholas.

During the Thirty Years War, the old village was destroyed in 1637 by the Habsburg troops from the free county, the reconstruction took place it in its present location. 1638 gave the monks of St. Pierre from Chalon built by them chapel of the population. In order to have enough space for the faithful, it was in the following years increased by the inhabitants.

The place was during the French Revolution called mass Libre (1789 ), from 1793 mass Chapelle Saint Sauveur and bears since 1801, the current name.

Infrastructure

The place is located at the Department of Road 13 In the village there are, among others, a church ( dedicated to the Holy Trinity ), a Mairie (town hall), a swimming pond, a bakery, a school and a soccer, tennis and petanque court. At the Etang de Chavenne there is an old mill, now used as a restaurant.

A special feature of La Chapelle -Saint -Sauveur has thanks to the numerous Étangs to the municipality since 2007 through a public, biological swimming and bathing facility. About 900 m² are available to swimmers and bathers available (maximum depth of 1.90 meters ), directly adjacent is a playground and rest area, a picnic area, a beach volleyball court, as well as a solarium and Sanitary systems. Following the usable recreation area, the water is in a natural habitat, which is home to numerous aquatic plants regenerated. Small thresholds and water features provide one with the oxygenation of the water. Using pumps and a sophisticated management system is thus purified water supplied to the pool again. The construction costs for the whole year usable system amounted to 660,000 €.
