Geography

The County is located in western Arizona, on the west by California and has a land area of 11,654 square miles and a water area of ​​34 square kilometers. It is bordered clockwise to the counties: Mohave County, Yavapai County, Maricopa County, Yuma County, Imperial County ( California), Riverside County ( California ) and San Bernardino County ( California).

History

The County was formed in 1983 from parts of Yuma countys. It is the only county in Arizona, which was after 1912, when Arizona State was formed.
